Finally, we have high speed fiber internet thanks to the Infrastructure Package. I never thought this day would come in my lifetime. It is tough living out in a rural area and not having access to high-speed internet.

In the spring we received word that fiber would be laid in our township. We started seeing people around looking at the rout the fiber would take. Late in the fall we found them working on the road leading to our farm.

Several days later they had reached the farm. Turns out we were the last farm on the trunk line. They installed a junction box out by the road then pulled fiber to another junction box closer to the house.

Several weeks later another crew came to pull fiber from the junction box to the house.

Red-breasted Nuthatches ocassionally appear at my bird feeders.

One of our regular stops on our fall photography trip to the U.P. of Michigan is Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. There were quite a few people enjoying the fall colors and the park.

A common bird at my winter feeder.

This has been a very strange March. We have never seen so many White-tailed Deer around the farm. It has is not uncommon to see over thirty in a day. This small group was out in the edge of the prairie eating lower hanging branches.

Pileated Woodpeckers are a frequent visitor to my feeders. I think there is a pair of them in the woods. Normally the female vists but the male ocassionally turns up.
