Given the current situation in the world it was great to be able to get out of the house and drive through Crex Meadows. Not a lot going on but we did see some wildlife.

A few more photos from my walk around the farm.

Yesterday we saw our first Bluebirds this spring.

We made an early morning stop at Interstate Falls. I was not able to capture the beautiful scenery with the large amount of fresh snow covering the ground.

One of my first photography locations each spring is Gilbert Creek Wildlife Area. It is only a short drive from home and it allows me to photograph a variety of wildlife. On my first trip this year this I found quite a few Canada Geese.

The male Red-winged Blackbirds were also abundant. This was my first time photographing from my Electric Vehicle and I found it worked well because it was so quiet and I didn’t have to turn the car off and on.

The Pussy Willows ware out now at Gilbert Creek.

There were also some ducks flying around.

This was our last trip of the winter to Northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. Our first stop was Amnicon Falls.

We had a heavy wet snowfall overnight and the trees were covered with over an inch of snow. I walked around the farm taking photos before it all melted.

On our way to Bayfield we stopped at Houghton Falls State Natural Area. It was cold enough for some nice frost.

We stopped in Bayfield to have lunch with a friend. After lunch we wandered down to the harbor to take a few photos. We were very lucky to find one of the windsleds in the harbor. We watched it slide across the ice into the open water where the Madline Island Ferries were running.

My favorite winter waterfall location is Bond Falls. It always has running water and interesting ice formations.
