My wife and I recently drove out to Hoffman Hills to see what flowers are blooming. The DNR did a controlled burn in the area this spring and we had plenty of rain so I expected to see lots of wildflowers.

As we pulled in there was another car in the parking lot. Turns out it was a couple of serious photographers. I assume they are serious if they carry a tripod and camera bag. This was the first time I’ve ever seen serious photographers at Hoffman Hills. Too bad because it is a great place to photograph.

There were indeed quite a few flowers in bloom. The Lead and Rattlesnake plants were a common flower in the prairie area. The Butterfly-weeds were still blooming.

There were a lot of dragonflies around the ponds.
