We had gone out to Hoffman Hills to check on the nesting Canada Geese but there were many more things to see. A Green Heron landed on the other side of the pond. We watched as it hunted along the shore for frogs.

There were also quite a few Red-winged Blackbirds around

The Marsh Marigolds are blooming in the swampy areas.

The Painted Turtles were sunning themselves along the edge of the pond.

The last of the Pussy Willows were blooming.

The Willow Trees are getting ready to bloom.

There were a number of Turkey Vultures flying around the area.

Given the current situation in the world it was great to be able to get out of the house and drive through Crex Meadows. Not a lot going on but we did see some wildlife.

A few more photos from my walk around the farm.

We made an early morning stop at Interstate Falls. I was not able to capture the beautiful scenery with the large amount of fresh snow covering the ground.

This was our last trip of the winter to Northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. Our first stop was Amnicon Falls.

We had a heavy wet snowfall overnight and the trees were covered with over an inch of snow. I walked around the farm taking photos before it all melted.

On our way to Bayfield we stopped at Houghton Falls State Natural Area. It was cold enough for some nice frost.

We stopped in Bayfield to have lunch with a friend. After lunch we wandered down to the harbor to take a few photos. We were very lucky to find one of the windsleds in the harbor. We watched it slide across the ice into the open water where the Madline Island Ferries were running.

My favorite winter waterfall location is Bond Falls. It always has running water and interesting ice formations.

It has been about two weeks since I last checked my trail camera. With spring nearing there has been a lot of activity. Most of it has been White-tailed Deer. They are really curious about the camera and seem to spend a lot of time looking at it. This results in a lot of useless photos. I’ve seen only one buck the in the last month.

I’ve had a fair number of Wild Turkeys posing for the camera.

In addition I’ve had a pair of Coyotes wandering past the camera. This is the first time I’ve seen a pair of Coyotes. There have also been the usual cast of characters, squirrels, Raccoons are now out and about, the neighbors cat has also been around.
