The Eastern Phoebe is rarely seen at the feeder and this is the first time I’ve seen a House Wren at the feeder.

I occasionally have rabbits at the feeder and for a week I had a family of Raccoons visit the feeder every night.

We recently had our first winter snow storm. I spent the day photographing birds at my feeders.

My main interest is photographing birds while it’s snowing out but I do shoot at other times. These are a few birds seen at my feeders in the last few weeks.

A few days ago we had, what was supposed to be, a brief morning snow squall. I had an appointment in town in the morning and was disappointed that I would miss the opportunity to photograph birds. As it turned out the snow squall turned into an all day event giving me an opportunity to get some great winter bird shots.

The White-breasted Nuthatch is another bird that doesn’t always show up at my feeders. I had a pair appear this past summer and they seemed to have been joined by another pair for the coming winter.

Just before winter ended we had a snowstorm so I tried to photograph some of the birds that were hanging around my feeders.

It started snowing about 9pm last night and when I woke up this morning it was a bright sunny day with about 3 inches of snow on the ground. I decided to take a few bird photos while the snow was still around.

A couple of weeks ago we had, what I think, was the last major snowstorm of the year. There is nothing like a good snowstorm to bring birds into the feeder. They typically are not nearly as shy as they are on a nice bright sunny day. A good snowstorm means some great bird photography. Most of the usual suspects turned up during the storm.

It’s been almost three years since I’ve seen a White-breasted Nuthatch at my bird feeders. This winter they have returned and I’ve been able to get a few photos of them at my feeder. It is always nice to find a different bird at my feeders.
