My wife and I found a nesting Sandhill Crane in an unexpected place. It is nesting in the middle of a small pond surrounded by water. Last week we had over 2.5 inches of rain so we were a little concerned that the nest might be under water. It wasn’t but the water was right up to the doorstep so to speak. While we were watching the parent left the nest revealing two eggs. We’re thinking they will hatch the second week of June.
