Two days ago the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks returned. Yesterday the Baltimore Orioles returned for the summer. It’s probably not surprising that both species returned at the same time because they share a winter in Central America.

When the grosbeaks returned I figured it was time to put out an oriole and hummingbird feeder. Sure enough the next morning there was a female Baltimore Oriole at the feeder followed a little later by a male. I decided it was time to get out the Grape Jelly and put up the grape jelly feeder. I still had a supply of grape jelly from last year. I stocked up at the end of the season because grape jelly was hard to find last year because there were so many Baltimore Orioles around.
