When the fall leaves are done in northern Wisconsin we usually make at least one trip to the southern part of the state. One of the places we like to visit is Pewits Nest near Baraboo, Wisconsin. If you hit it just right with the leaves this can be a fantastic place for photography. Unfortunately, we have not had the best luck. A couple of years ago we arrived at peak color only to find that a heavy rainstorm the day before had taken down many of the leaves. This year it was the drought. The leaves were not all that great and many of them had turned brown and fallen. The water levels in the stream were low and a couple of photographers had put on their waders and were able to walk down through the gorge.

More photos from Pewits Nest can be found on my website.
